Securing your Account with 2-Step Authentication

2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your account, by requiring you to sign in with something you know (your password) and something you have (a code sent to your phone).

How to Enroll in 2-Step Verification:

1. Click here to sign in to Google's My Account.
2. In the "Sign-in & security" category,  scroll to "how you sign in to Google".
3. Click 2-Step Verification (first option in column). This will bring you to the 2-Step Verification settings page.
4. Add your current personal mobile device phone number (this will be your main form of authentication). You may enable as many authentication methods as you would like; this is a personal preference. 
5. Once you have all desired authentication methods configured, click the blue Turn on 2-Step to complete enrollment. 
6. Return to your General Settings page, and ensure that your Recovery Phone and the phone for 2-Step Verification authentication are identical. 

You have now successfully enrolled. The next time you sign in, you’ll receive an SMS text message with a verification code.
