Here are the most common questions we see regarding Adobe Creative Cloud and related Adobe products. If you have a question that isn't addressed here, please contact us at itshelp@eckerd.edu.
Where can I find Adobe Creative Cloud on campus?
There are three academic computer labs on campus that feature Adobe Creative Cloud. These labs are regularly used for classes and tutoring sessions, so availability may vary.
Do I have to pay for a Creative Cloud license in order to use it in the lab?
The lab workstations operate on a Device License, which allows active students like you to share the Creative Cloud Suite on the workstation. After signing into the workstation, a browser window will appear. Enter your Eckerd College credentials to be signed into Creative Cloud.
I requested access to Creative Cloud apps. Why was my request denied?
Eckerd College provides free access to Adobe Creative Cloud in the academic labs listed previously. The Device Licenses do not transfer over to personal Named licenses which are used on personal devices.
I already have my own Creative Cloud Named license. Why can’t I use it in the academic labs?
The Device License assigned to the workstations does not grant access to certain features that are available in your Named license, such as storage, libraries, specialty fonts, or Adobe Stock, among others. Take care not to sign into the lab workstations with your Adobe Named account.
Can I buy an Adobe Creative Cloud license from Eckerd College or the Campus Bookstore?
You can contact Adobe yourself and purchase a license. There’s also a 7-day free trial. Visit this link to learn more about Creative Cloud pricing and options for active students:
Neither the Bookstore nor ITS sells Adobe licenses.
I know people who use Adobe Express. Isn’t this just like Creative Cloud?
Adobe Express is designed for content creation for online services and social media, but it does not feature the Creative Cloud apps. However, it can import files and content produced by the Creative Cloud apps and include them in your Express content. The basic Adobe Express is free with a personal Adobe ID, but there is a paid plan as well. Visit this site to learn more about Adobe Express pricing plans:
I am an active student but can’t access the labs on campus. How can I use Adobe Creative Cloud?
If you are an active research student and require Creative Cloud to complete your research project, please ask your faculty mentor to contact us at itshelp@eckerd.edu. If circumstances prevent you from accessing the labs while you are on campus, please contact the Office of Accessibility. Their site is here:
