This error can be generated when an incorrect URL is used from your browser.  If the URL you are trying to user to access Banner starts like:

https://ethosidentity.eckerd.edu:9443/authenticationendpoint/login.do...

if is in incorrect.  The correct url to get into Banner Production is

https://appnav.ban.eckerd.edu:8443/applicationNavigator/seamless

A Banner link can be found on its.eckerd.edu under the Faculty/Staff tab and scroll down to System Access
